5 Reasons to Shop on the High Street RIGHT NOW.

So, this weekend I did something a little bit unusual for me, and headed “into town” to browse the shops.

Now that I’m living outside of Central London, shopping isn’t quite as inspiring. Our local shopping centre has a handful of good shops, lots of bad ones, and a thousand pubs. So it’s definitely rare for me to visit. But visit I did, and I was pleasantly surprised.

Some of the items on offer in standard high street stores right now aren’t bad at all. In fact, I’d go so far to say that these items have made their way firmly on to my wishlist.

Zara Black Lace Dress

This dress was the first thing I saw when I walked into Zara and I loved it straight away. I saw a photo of a friend in it this morning and fell in love with it even more. Stunning, and a great price too.

Ted Baker Long Wool “Lorili” Coat

OK, OK, this is a little more expensive than a standard High Street piece, but it’s a classic and will last you forever. Available in a choice of colours and two lengths (this is long, a shorter version is here). I love the pop of colour with the blue…but the neutral is so stylish it could see you through any occasion. Decisions, decisions…

New Look Denim Dress

I tried this on and it looked awesome – and looks better in real life than  it does in this picture. It’s the perfect throw on dress for Autumn and I think would suit almost anyone. Cheap and cheerful, one to see you through the season.

Top Shop Moto Flared Jeans

I am a 70’s girl born and bred, and really love the flattering reemergence of the flare! Hate me for it if you like, I don’t care. Channel your inner boho babe with these fab jeans from TopShop. Super affordable, so you can wear the hell out of the trend.

Oasis Briony Jumper

I must admit, I’d forgotten Oasis exists. But I saw this hanging at the back of John Lewis as I made my way through to the car park and NEED it in my life. Would look stunning paired with the jeans above for a laid back AW15 look. Love.

I love your London Lifestyle blog and you chose some great pieces for this post! I am living in London for four months and I tend to do most of my shopping on Oxford Street, although I think it is much too cluttered for me and would prefer to shop somewhere else. Although High Street is a bit far from where I live, this post definitely makes me want to expand my fashion shopping horizons beyond Oxford and Regents street. Where are your favorite areas to shop in London? xx
