Once upon a time, quite a long time ago now (unfortunately for me, as it means I’m old), my friends and I were a little bit obsessed with Jane Norman.
It must have been around the time we left school that a branch opened in our local shopping mall. It was new, and it was exciting, and the clothes were different to all the other shops. We loved it.
That storeclosed, and as time moved on, so have we. I genuinely haven’t thought about Jane Norman for years – until recently. Just before my super-quick holiday in Ibiza this summer, the brand got in touch and sent over some ideas, and I was a bit floored. There was some really nice stuff in there.
I don’t know why I was surprised, but I guess you forget to take a second look at brands you think you’ve grown out of. I’d never even been on their website – but when this sequin skirt dress arrived for me to try – I was instantly in love with it. I wore it while on holiday and received so many compliments it was lovely – it looks loads better in real life than in these photos and is super-flattering – I wish I had more photos of me in it but pretty much just a couple of selfies!
Now, this looked fantastic with a tan in Summer – but would also work brilliantly for Christmas parties too (who doesn’t love a sequin at Christmas?!) Plus, at £55 it’s awesome value. If sequins aren’t your thing though there’s plenty more to choose from. Now – I can’t say I love EVERYTHING – but it’s very rare that I do. These little numbers are all beauties though, and the prices are great too!
(ALSO, definitely check out their lookbook. I am head over heels in love with the suede shift dress, the zip shoulder jumper and the fur trim coat, all of which I will be purchasing as soon as they become available. HURRY UP JN!)
The upshot of this post is, I’ve been fairly narrow minded when it’s come to buying clothes over recent years. I have my go-to splurge shops and my go-to High Street stores. Jane Norman have taught me to be a little bit more open-minded, and think outside the box. You might just fall in love with something new.
Have a browse and let me know if you find anything you like…I’d love to hear about it!
