For those of you who are new to this site, I will tell you something that those who are not, already know: we like beautiful things. We LOVE beautiful things. We also like naughty things. That’s why, when we received an invitation to come along to the launch of the Autumn Winter 2012 collection at Coco de Mer, we simply could not resist, despite the shocking London weather that we have been braving for the last few weeks!
Down one of the hidden little streets of Seven Dials in Covent Garden is this Palace of debauchery. As we sipped on champagne we decided to explore starting with some stunning lingerie. The new collection includes “Fleur of England”, beautiful French vintage rose lace, in berry colours to celebrate autumn foliage. My personal favourite though, was the “All Wrapped Up” range; a luxury lingerie line which, with a ginormous silk bow on your bum, will make it impossible not to look like an irresistible gift!
Onwards! I have always had a penchant for hats. In one corner, me eyes caught sight of a gorgeous red top hat, a red veil down the front, with red sequined lips embroidered on the netting. Perfect to unleash the inner ringleader in you! Just accessorise with one of the Swarovski encrusted riding crops available. Next to this though, housed in a glass cabinet was not just the naughty fine jewellery line, but a silver-plated dildo with a sculpture of a swan on the end. On sale for a cool £920, I’m not surprised that it’s in a cabinet, but despite being a sex toy, it doesn’t look out of place being on display either it is such a work of art. Of course, they do sell more conventional toys that can be recharged on your laptop via usb, and discreetly kept in your handbag, if that’s what you want.
Coco de Mer is a little paradise of sensuality and luxury and most importantly…pleasure. It’s somewhere to go for something as small as the perfect scented candle to turn your bedroom into a boudoir, or for something just that little bit spicier.
Which leads us to out last stop: the cash register where, under a glass counter, was displayed an impressive collection of buttplugs. We liked the ones with jewels on the end, but the one with the clock told us it was time to go…
