Any of you who follows me on Twitter will have read about my amazing experience at Bestival a couple of weeks ago. Phone breakages and bad back aside, it was definitely one of my favourite weekends of the year so far – and has firmly earnt it’s place and one of my favourite festivals of the year. LOVED IT.
It’s not just the acts that make Bestival great – although they certainly helped. Dancing around in a field to Classics by The Cure, new favourites from Robyn and Kelis and an amazing (and my personal favourite) afternoon set by The Cuban Brothers was great. But there’s so much more to this Festival than that..and the best thing of all? The people.
The atmosphere here is amazing. Everyone embraces the theme (Rock Stars, Pop Stars and Divas this syear) and everywhere you look are people dressed up to the nines in AMAZING costumes. We spednt hours in the Bollywood tent listening to the likes of FatBoy Slim, trudged across Muddy fields to find Jag Skills, dragged 20 odd dancing people to find Tensnake and saw my great mates True Tiger rock the Roller Disco – amazing set by them. Even the threat of a hurricane didn’t dampen anyones spirits, we all still partied hard way into Sunday night, so felt fresh as a daisy (hmmmm) on our 7.15am ferry ride home….
OK, so it has taken me a week or so to recover and I will never again park in the Car Park at the TOP of the hill – but I am already excited about re-uniting Team Besti for round 2 next year. And luckily, early-bird tickets are going on sale from 9am this Friday morning!
You will have to get in quick as only a limited number of tickets are available and will be snapped up by brilliant people within hours, I’m sure – but it’s definitely worth it and you will thank me come Summer next year! This years Festival was a complete sell-out so it’s definitely worth booking up ASAP.
The line-up is still a mystery, obviously, but Bestival always secure the greatest acts so there”s nothing to worry about there. Bestival 2012 runs from 6-9th September. See you there?
Get your tickets here from 9am on Friday, 23rd September.
