I don’t know about you, but here at TLLWTL we have been going mad for the new ITV show “The Only Way Is Essex“. The stars of the show are outrageous, but the best bit is they are real, and the stories shown are ones that happen to all of us no matter where we live. Relationship problems, bitchiness, jealousy and new romances…take away the fake tans and change the accents and it could be based anywhere!
One of our favourite parts of the show is watching the fab new girlband, LOLA, embarking on their mission to make it big. The girls are gorgeous, super-talented and lots of fun and it’s great going behind the scenes with them to see exactly what it takes to become overnight sensations!
Yesterday we were lucky enough to catch up with Linzi, Jess, Lauren and Amba in between their hectic recording and filming schedule and have a quick chat about LOLA.
TLL: How did LOLA form?
LOLA: We all auditioned and finally the 4 of us came together. Linzi was the first member, Jess auditioned then we found Lauren and Amba. We are so happy with the final line up!
TLL: Why are you called LOLA?
LOLA: We think it’s a really pretty name, and lots of mothers call their daughters that name now so it’s nice for young girls who are our fans
TLL: How would you describe your musical style?
LOLA: Definitely Pop/R&B. Our songs are good fun to listen to.
TLL: When can we expect your debut single?
LOLA: Hopefully very soon! We would love to release something before the end of the year. At the moment we are working really hard in the studio on some great tracks, so watch this space.
TLL: What’s it like being involved in “TOWIE”…and are you all Essex girls?!
LOLA: It’s great! We think the show is fun and exciting and could be a great launch for us in the music industry. Hopefully people will see us, like us and want to buy our music. Jess, Lauren and Amba all live in Essex – Linzi is the odd one out!
TLL: Which girl group from pop’s past do you most admire?
LOLA: The Spice Girls and Girls Aloud. Ever since we were little girls we all loved both those bands and hoped to be like them one day.
TLL: Who are your favourite acts in the charts at the moment?
LOLA: Rihanna, Beyonce, Pixie Lott, The Saturdays, Neyo and lots more!
TLL: Who would you most like to work with?
LOLA: Tough question – probably Neyo
TLL: Thanks so much for taking the time to speak with us girls, we know how busy you are. One last thing – what can we expect from LOLA in the future?
LOLA: Lots of amazing music, fun and girl power!!
To listen to some of LOLA’s amazing music now, head over to their MySpace page. We love all the tracks but “I’m OK” is our favourite – what’s yours?
We will keep you updated with any news from the girls as soon as we hear it!
