The International Meeting of Styles, the biggest graffiti and aerosol jam in the world, is coming to London on 20 and 21 August showcasing 60 of Europe’s most skilled artists in a high-energy block party. At an undisclosed location in North London, 12 huge walls, rotating advertising boards and a pop-up gallery space make up the canvases which will be painted to a sublime sound track of funk, hip hop and dub.
And in the spirit of Hip Hop street parties, the event is FREE!
Hosted by aerosol addicts End Of The Line for the 3rd year running, MOS 2010 promises to top last year’s event which saw over 2000 people descend on the dirty streets of Brick Lane market to witness the spectacle of world class live painting and underground music, with Rodney P & Skitz headlining the music stage.
This year’s cross-section of artists from France, Greece, Germany, Spain, and all over the UK will be showcasing a broad range of graffiti styles. These will include Da Mental Vaporz, Ghetto Farceur, Shok, Sheone, Roket & Ozone, 3Steps crew and many more.
The main painting event will take place over two days culminating in an after party on Saturday night the 21st of August in the pop-up gallery space to showcase and celebrate the completion of the works. Artists are invited to paint on panels to create a patchwork installation, which will feature in the gallery. Canvases and various other painted pieces from the event will also be included. The after-party is for over 18s only.
Four artists will be painting the exterior wall of 73-75 Scrutton St, EC2A 4AJ to promote the event, please do check it out if you’re in the area!
