Five great places to go in London over Easter…

Things to do in London this Easter

With Easter around the corner and the chance of some hard-earned time off, you might well already be thinking about where you want to go over the coming weeks. Rest assured that capital is bursting things to see and do, and James Congdon has picked some of his favourites for you to explore:

Take in London’s sites from 1,000 feet up

Already recognised as an iconic landmark throughout the world, the Shard is the single largest building in Europe. The perfect vantage point for taking in the awe-inspiring sites and points of interest all over London, this is well worth visiting. We found a great package over at where you can enjoy a delicious afternoon tea afterwards.

Grab some free chocolate at the London Eye

If you hop down to the London eye for some Easter fun, Edwin the Easter Rabbit will be there to welcome you into his exciting Easter Egg Factory. From the 29th March to 1st April, families will have the chance to meet Edwin and a host of circus style performers – it’s definitely worth a trip.

Entertain the Kids at Zippos Circus

Zippos return to their usual spot at Blackheath, where they take up residence each year. This years theme is Carnaval – and the show is packed with high-energy, high-colour acts from around the world. New acts include the Havana Troupe, aerial acrobats from Havana, and the Lucius Team, the incredible Brazilian motorbike riders who will blow your mind. The Ringmaster will be Norman Barrett MBE and his world famous budgies. There’s also a funfair on the site, so head down there for a whole day of fun!

Don’t forget the museums

Although the kids might take a different view, there is only so much chocolate we can get through over a couple of weeks, so why not use the Easter break to give them a bit of culture at any of the fantastic museums that we have on our doorsteps. From the National History Museum to the V&A, there is a great deal on offer. The Museum of London, for example, is offering families the chance to take part in a number of arts and crafts events – read more about it here.

What about an Easter fair?

You’ll have a plethora of Easter fairs to choose from – one such example would be the annual event a Clapham Common in London. This is a great mix of modern and traditional attractions where you will sample the carousel, dodgems, games, stalls and delicious food and drink. Popular with people of all ages, go and see why thousands flock there every year.

You can also find a whole host of other ideas over on our London Events page. From family days out to Ferris Bueller parties – it’s all there!
