Who Needs Afternoon Tea, When You Can Have Afternoon Coffee?

My name is JJ, and I am a coffee addict.

It truly is my biggest vice. It’s not unheard of for me to drink 8 cups of the good stuff on a bad day. And my local coffee shop wouldn’t even dream of assuming I will only have one when I pop in. They put through 2 without flinching.

LOVE IT.

I didn’t know, however, that there was such a thing as National Coffee Week. I kind of thought that was every week, but hey, we learn something new all the time. National Coffee Weeks run from 4-10th May in the UK, and gives us just the excuse we (don’t) need to worship caffeine.

To celebrate this momentous week, The Arch Hotel in London are switching things up a bit, and swapping Afternoon Tea for Afternoon Coffee.

Afternoon Coffee will include delectable coffee treats such as coffee flavour macaroons, mini coffee éclairs and cakes, as well as a selection of other cakes and pastries, fine finger sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream and jam, and of course a delicious cup of freshly brewed coffee. It’s £37 per person so not cheap, but does sound scrummy.

What do you think, would you swap traditional Afternoon Tea for Afternoon Coffee? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter! x
