If I were Queen, it would be obligatory to have a blow dry every day. Good things happen when you have good hair – and that salon blow-dry finish is impossible to recreate at home. Absolutely impossible.
That’s why I was so excited to hear a friend of mine has opened a brand new blow dry bar on King’s Road in Chelsea – entirely dedicated to the good stuff.
Duck & Dry is a boutique up-do and blow dry bar that opened in September. It’s quickly become a West End hot spot, frequented by socialites, fashion designers, Chelsea reality TV stars and the likes. Everything about this salon exudes elegance. From the Prosecco served on tap, to the Emilia Wickstead designed staff uniforms and impeccable interior – there are no cut corners and nothing is compromised.
Their philosophy is to keep things simple and do them well, and their motto is ‘Fine feathers make fine birds’ (adore!). They offer a ‘menu’ of 8 signature blow dries and 8 up-dos to choose from – no hair cuts or dyes, just damn good blow dries. A Blow Dry is £25 or £35 for an up-do (regardless of hair length).
I was lucky enough to have the head Creative Director (and co-owner) Snowden Hill fix me up with some ‘Low Tide Waves’ – a subtle and soft movement blow-dry – perfect for a night out. The other Love London ladies went for the ‘Va Va Voom’ and ‘Low Tide Waves’.
We love EVERYTHING about this place – get there as often as you can afford.
