THE PERFECT WINTER BOOTS
Good morning! October is upon us, which means there is no point trying to pretend we’re in ‘late summer’ anymore.
October to me is the real start of Autumn – one of my favourite times of year. It’s when the leaves start crunching beneath your feet; when the mornings turn frosty cold and your wardrobe changes for the foreseeable months. This weekend, anything remotely summery will be put in storage until the Spring, and I’ll be surrounded by cosy knitwear, huge scarves and warm coats. Marvellous.
One thing I’m missing, though, is the perfect pair of winter boots. I have my trusty Carvella Military pair that have served me faithfully for a few years, but while they’re still my favourites, there is no denying I’ve worn them beyond their best (see above!). So, it’s time to invest in a new pair – and invest I should. This is definitely an area I feel it’s worth spending rather than saving, as your boots will have to face rain, hail, sleet…and maybe even snow! So they need to be made well enough to last.
I have fallen completely in love with this Steve Madden pair. (So much so that I’ve added them straight to my wishlist!) They’re available in black or brown, but for me, the brown are so much nicer…
I also did a search to see if anything like my Carvella beauties are still available (they’re not) and came across these lovelies from Giuseppi Zanotti. I’d team these up with a sweater dress, or over skinny jeans.
While it’s nice to splurge on designer items though, I do totally understand that it’s not always possible. So, if you’re ona budget, there are still some gorgeous options. I always find New Look is good for cheaper shoes, and their boot section has taken a lot of inspiration from the designers this season. I particularly like these lace up brogue boots, but there are so many to choose from there’s bound to be something to suit everyone!
So, there you go – my idea of the perfect winter boots, whatever the weather! Have you found any you love? If so, please comment with the links below, we’d love some extra inspiration!
