A ski holiday and a Spanish hen weekend
Apologies for the lack of posts over the past week or two, but the Easter break went to our heads a bit and we all ended up escaping the big smog and gallivanting around here, there and everywhere.
I somehow managed to fit in a ski holiday in Austria, closely followed by a hen weekend in Spain. It’s been boozy. And expensive. So I’m pretty bloody glad to be back in sunny London (sunnier than Spain, let me tell you).
Anyway, the two holidays were an absolute blast, so I thought I’d share a few of the details with you in case you’re in need of some holiday inspiration.
St Christoph am Alberg, Austria
I’ve been skiing for over 20 years now, and never in my life have I experienced snow like I did this April. Mounds of it. I’m talking Range Rovers being completely buried. Anyway, despite the snowstorms and blizzards and lifts being shut, we still managed to have a great holiday.
We booked through Inghams this year and they were a dream from start to finish. We were a group of 10, and they managed to find us a super cheap, last minute deal (£880) despite it being the school holidays. This price included flights, transfers, accommodation, and most food and drink for the week (breakfast, afternoon tea, four course evening meals and as much wine as you can drink).
They also went above and beyond with their service; helping my panicked boyfriend get onto the next flight after he forgot his passport (don’t ask) and generally being really friendly, helpful and dishing out some seriously delicious meals. I also really rate the accommodation – Chalet Hotel St. Christoph – especially for large groups and families with kids. The rooms are basic, but it has everything you need including a swimming pool, sauna, bar and plenty of board games. Plus it’s RIGHT next to the ski lift, which is a huge bonus.
Dubbed the 3Mill Euro Mansion on Trip Advisor, we knew we were in some pretty nice accommodation, but we didn’t realise how nice. Nestled up in the mountains towards Mijas, Villa Paradiso has a big heated pool, sound system throughout, epic kitchen, about 20 different eating and lounging areas, hundreds of towels, a wine cellar, sauna and 6 bedrooms, all with en suites. This. Place. Was. SICK.
Unfortunately the weather was pretty cloudy and cold and we were only there for three days, but I highly recommend booking this place when it warms up. It is the ideal party house. The harbour and bars weren’t too bad either – what I can remember of them. Sorry about that Benalmadena.
