“You’re a Wizard, Harry!” – A trip to Hogwarts…

Warner Bros. Studio Tour - The Making of Harry Potter

In the lead up to my eleventh birthday I was convinced that my letter to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry would arrive in the mail.

Needless to say – the letter never came… and I was absolutely devastated (still kinda am). So when I was offered the chance to go and check out the Warner Bros. Studio Tour ‘The Making of Harry Potter‘ – I was pretty damn excited. Finally, after all these years my dreams of wandering the grand corridors and studying Defense Against the Dark Arts were about to come true.

The tour is magical! It immerses you not only in the amazing movie set – but also a fantasy world that played such a significant role in my childhood and was a massive influence on our whole generation growing up.

The Hogwarts Great Hall, Gryffindor Common Room, Diagon Ally and Privet Drive were just a few highlights – and a mug of Butterbeer provided a great pick-me-up half way through the tour.

Aside from getting to explore the original movie sets, animatronic creatures and breathtaking special effects; we were also lucky enough to meet a bunch of the animal actors who starred in the films (a special offer running until 25th February). The animals teamed up with their trainers to showcase their acting skills and take part in live demonstrations, which were super impressive. Hedwig, Crookshanks (my fav) and Fang were just a few of the friendly faces we saw, and they were all adorable!

This day trip is an absolute must do – and you don’t need to be Harry’s number one fan to enjoy it – I mean, who wouldn’t have fun pretending to fly around on a broomstick?…

The Studio Tour’s Animal Actors feature is running from Friday 13th to Wednesday 25th February and all additional activities are included in the standard ticket price.
