I seem to write about my underwear a lot these days.
Hopefully it’s not too gratuitous. I mean, I’m not about to start posting pictures of me in my knickers or anything (I don’t think anyone would be overly happy about that. Except perverts. And I’m not here to please the perverts.) But as a bird with larger boobs, I do think it’s a big problem that it’s so hard to find lovely lingerie (especially on the high street) that’s attractive, affordable and the right size.
I’ve said it before. If you’re size 30A-34DD, you should be just about fine to find anything you like in every-day shops. You can find your t-shirt bras, or your every day work underwear, or something a little more saucy without too much trouble. But head into the larger end of the market? Not so easy. There are sections in Debenhams, sure. You can spend your months wages in Selfridges, no problem. But it’s not easy. And while I’m a fan of buying most things on the internet, bras, which aren’t always the most comfortable things anyway, are something you really want to try on before you buy – especially if you’re in need of a bit of extra support.
So. As a (self-styled) ambassador for all FABULOUS big boobied ladies, I like to share the news of collections I come across that I think are worth a look. And the Kelly Brook lingerie collection for New Look is definitely worth checking out.
I’ve known Kelly was designing this collection for a few years, of course, but, in the past, I saw a few bits that were a little bit, errrm, gaudy, so I didn’t bother checking it out again. I’m not sure whether that is just an error on my part, or if things have drastically improved, but right now, pretty much the entire collection is gorgeous.
Don’t be fooled by the pictures on the New Look site. They’re pretty bloody awful (Marketing team – sort that out!) – and certainly wouldn’t persuade me to buy. Seeing the collection up close, however, did. The bra’s, even for the larger sizes, are all under £20 (which I think is great for a cup size over E) and the detail and finish are lovely. OK, so they’re not going to be as perfect as some of the more expensive brands, but the key word here is value.
Take a look at some of the pieces available…
Lush huh? I’ve personally just snapped up the Black Eyelash Lace set, for under £25 (for the bra and knickers. Bargain). It’s delicious.
I’d advise checking out the pieces in store to understand the prettiness, but if you trust my opinion (and you can, honest) head over to the New Look site, ignore the really bad imagery and snap up some luscious lingerie for yourself. x
