New London Restaurant: Jason Atherton's "Social Eating House" opens in April…

Jason Atherton has come a long way since leaving his mentor Gordon Ramsays fold.

The Chef, who credited with turning famous London restaurant Maze into the most profitable restaurant in GRH’s portfolio, stepped out on is own after allegedly falling out with Gordon over money.

Jason Atheron to open his 2nd London restaurant, Social Eating House, in Soho this April.

Since then, his first solo venture, Pollen Street Social, has wowed critics and has become a firm favouriteon the London restaurant scene. It’s great to hear that Atherton is expanding his (currently quite tiny) empire, to include the Social Eating House. The new restaurant is set to open in Soho this April.

The restaurant, which will be on Poland Street, aims to

create an informal and affordable dining experience with a contemporary bistro menu paying homage to the best of British cooking with international influences.

Paul Hood, who has worked along side Jason for the past six years, will head up the restaurant. Signature dishes will include Ravioli of wild boar bolognaise, peppered hearts and kidney; Flamed cote de pork, beetroot, white polenta, spring onion and savory; Duck, smoked ham, egg and chips; and CLT – crab, lettuce and tomato vinaigrette.

Inspired by the buzzy, neighbourhood vibe of Soho, Atherton says

I want it to be a social restaurant where the surroundings are as vibrant as the food.  People will be able to enjoy a good meal that is good value.

We’re quite excited. Looking forward to getting in to review and letting you know all about it!
