Stardust Jam, Gold Leaf Vodka and Other Sparkling Ingredients For Christmas…

Christmas is coming.
I am getting fat.
Or at least I’m going to…when I try out all of these incredible ingredients I’ve spotted on my travels recently.

One of my favourite things about Christmas is how creative the shops get with their foodie products, and this year, there’s a lot out there to please me! I thought I’d share some of the most fabulous items I’ve come across – perfect for making your cupboards a little more glamorous, or as gift ideas for fellow home cooks.

Strawberry Stardust Jam – Fortnum & Mason (£6.50)

I saw this for the first time this week and immediately wanted a pot of my own. It’s beautiful, sparkly strawberry jam, packed with edible glitter and whole strawberries, and perfect for making breakfast, cakes or simple toast a little bit more special. The picture here really doesn’t do it justice, when you see it in real life it’s packed with shimmer and absolutely beautiful. Snap some up for someone utterly fabulous. They’ll love you for it!

Chocolate Sugar – East India Company (£10)

For those of you who think sugar just isn’t chocolatey enough, and chocolate just isn’t as sweet as you’d like…how about some Chocolate Sugar? I honestly can’t think WHY you’d need it…but Christmas is a time for luxuries and having what you want, not what you need. This would make a perfect stocking filler for someone with a sweet tooth!

Sparkling Pink Vodka – Vom Flass at Selfridges (£40)

This is AMAZING. Not only is it pink vodka…but it’s pink sparkling vodka, packed with edible 22 carat gold leaf. Can you imagine this in cocktails? It would be awesome. At 40%, it’s not all sweetness and fairy dust either. I’m definitely buying this for one of my friends this Christmas. So special!

Edible 24-karat Gold Champagne Lollipop – Selfridges (£5.99)

If you’re looking for a more portable touch of glamour, this champagne flavoured lollipop is the perfect answer. Packed with 24-karat gold flakes, it would make an ideal stocking filler…or handbag treat. Plus – this could be seen as medicinal. Gold is known to have anti-bacterial properties when consumed…so eating this has to be healthy, right??

Christmas Mulling Syrup – Fortnum & Mason (£12.95)

If you don’t want to be limited, and fancy adding a touch of sparkle to almost anything you’re preparing this winter – this Christmas Mulling Syrup is just perfect! Not only does it look amazing, it’s also designed to be used in puddings and sauces, added to hot drinks, mulled wine and cocktails, or poured over pancakes or vanilla ice cream. It really couldn’t be more Christmassy;  a rich sugar syrup infused with fresh orange and mulling spices and sprinkled with edible glitter. DELISH!
