I love a good long weekend and lucky for us they are the gift that keeps giving this time of year. Over Easter Abby and I decided we wanted to go away for the bank holiday but flights over any holiday period are extortionate even without leaving it to the last minute like we did, so we decided why not stay in the UK but see the sights with a road trip, there’s nothing better than a road trip with a group of friends right?
Lucky for us the lovely people at Ford gave us the brand new Fiesta Red Edition to try out and wow what a treat that was. I had never driven in London before so was very skeptical of how it would be but I can tell you now the car was the perfect size to nip around the city effortlessly. Don’t let the compact look fool you; we had three burly men in toe, they fit snug in the back but fit nonetheless! (We shotgun front obvs)
We started our journey driving to Oxford, even though it’s so close to London I still had never been. Driving through the beautiful countryside the car drove exceptionally and the transition from city, motorway then to the wee country lanes was effortless. The Fiesta Red Edition can achieve 0-100 km/h in 9 seconds but with great fuel efficiency making it perfect for all types of travel, half a tank of gas got us around 260miles give or take!
Once arriving at our first destination we stopped at the oldest pub in Oxford, The Bear, I highly recommend it, decent pub grub and great ales.
With full stomachs we headed to our next destination; the only thing is we didn’t know where we were heading. To be honest I just wanted to keep driving this wee beauty. The control and precision was faultless. Although our aim was to drive through the Cotswold’s we ended up in Stroud, (If you haven’t heard of it I wouldn’t look it up) in saying that I had one of the best nights I have ever had, something about having no expectations and great company, you always end up having a good time.
I am the first to admit I don’t know much about cars but this one I can say i’ve fallen in love with. We had a great weekend all in all and I can say without doubt I would highly recommend this car for all, no matter what your needs.
