Happy 7th Birthday to Bake-a-Boo!

I’ve written about Bake-a-Boo, the stunning little cake shop and party parlour in West Hampstead a handful of times now, and every time we do, people ooh and ahhh over how pretty it is. As soon as you enter you’re struck by the prettiness; there’s bunting strung from the ceiling, seemingly hundreds of vintage chandeliers dripping down, fairy lights, charming framed pictures and little personal touches all over the walls. And that’s before we even start talking about the scrumptious cakes, presented in the window, hand made, beautifully decorated and just begging to be enjoyed.

This week, Bake-a-Boo have been celebrating their 7th birthday…which is a testament to the tea-shops popularity among locals, and visitors alike. To celebrate, the shop threw a little party to thank it’s friends and supporters, and we were invited along.

The shop looked even more delightful than usual. In time for their birthday they’ve spruced the place up a little – with a new, pastel facade and a freshly decorated interior. There were vodka fruit cocktails, served in jam jars, miniature cupcakes, apple pastries, melt in the mouth chocolate brownies, chocolate dipped strawberries and of course, a gorgeous birthday cake which we all devoured. The table was styled with vintage Vogue magazines, buttons, bows, beads, glitter and delicate china from Royal Albert. It was like a dream…so well done.

Bake-a-Boo is set to continue making people’s lives very happy for a long time yet, and we look forward to enjoying their wide selection of cakes for at least the next seven years!

If you don’t know already, Bake-a-Boo specialise in delicious treats to suit everyone, including normal, gluten-free and dairy-free cakes. They vary their flavours every day, and those that are baked for those of us with intolerances taste so good they’re known as some of the best in London.

Bake-a-Boo also cater for outside events, produce personalised cakes for celebrations and host hen parties, birthday parties, baby showers and anything else you feel deserves a party! They also serve a wonderful afternoon tea (gluten-free afternoon tea also available) throughout the year.

The shop is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (it’s only open for private events during the week) – but customised orders can be taken every day.
