It's a Healthy Eating thing…..

I eat a lot.

I really can’t help it. I absolutely love food. All kinds of it. Including bad stuff, like cheeseburgers and pizza.

Oh, who am I kidding?! Especially bad stuff, like cheeseburgers and pizza!

My roomy, on the other hand, eats like a sparrow and rarely digs in to a takeaway, which has led me to think quite long and hard about my eating habits. While I don’t drastically need to lose weight (except the few extra pounds I think we all carry after Christmas) I have decided to embark on a healthy eating plan, and see where it gets me.

So, after trawling the internonsense looking for a plan that doesn’t deprive me, scare me or make me spend hundreds of pounds I don’t have on mystery ingredients I’ve never heard of…I settled for this Healthy Eating plan that I found on the NetDoctor site.

I like it. It’s full of foods I enjoy, it lets me snack, and it encourages me to eat lots…but of the right things rather than the crap. Certain aspects are interchangeable and they promote a variety of foods so hopefully, I won’t get bored. And best of all, there is even the mention of chips in there somewhere…so I don’t feel like I’m missing out on “treats”.

I’m not expecting (nor do I want) to lose a whole lot of weight, but I am hoping that eating better helps me feel better too. With all the medication I pump into my body, all the alcohol I’ve poisoned myself with over the years and the forced lack of exercise my injuries cause…I’m pretty sure I should be nicer to myself if I ever want to see 40.

So, today I did a huge shop, restocked the cupboards, filled up the freezer with good quality meat and got as many veggies as I could possibly find and after todays lunch and tonights dinner I can report that so far…it’s so good.

The plan lasts for 4 weeks so wish me luck! I hope that by that time it will feel like a habit and I won’t even have to think twice about eating well. If anyone fancies joining me, the details are all here…why not jump in?!
