We’re so lucky in London to be surrounded by such incredible artworks. There are galleries scattered throughout the city, many of which offer free exhibitions and experiences, so you can see some of the world’s greatest works of art ever created.

From today at the National Portrait Gallery (NPG) you can see the first major museum retrospective of the innovative and influential Man Ray’s photographic portraits.

Featuring 150 vintage prints that demonstrate the Artists experiments with colour, revolutionary techniques and examples from his published works in iconic magazines such as Vogue and Vanity Fair.

Focusing on Man Ray’s career in America and Paris between 1916 and 1968, the exhibition highlights his position among the leading artists of the Dada and Surrealist movements and the significant range of contemporaries, celebrities, friends and lovers that he captured: from Marcel Duchamp and Pablo Picasso to Kiki de Montparnasse, Lee Miller and Catherine Deneuve.

The exhibition is open from today until 27th May 2013. Entry to the gallery is free – donations appreciated.
