We Love: Honest Burgers, Portobello Road (London, W11)

Burgers could quite possibly be one the greatest inventions of all time, so when TLL was invited to celebrate the opening of Honest Burgers newest venue on Portobello Road, it was essential that we show our appreciation for these culinary delights and for the creators of some of the best burgers in London. Free beer is also a great invention and we got to celebrate that as well.

The restaurant was packed out on Tuesday with everyone enjoying sliders, enabling us to try out the array of choice on the menu.  As many of my friends know, me and burgers go hand in hand. I thought my love for them could not grow any more. But when I saw them in miniature form, they are just the cutest things in the world and my heart melted for them all over again. As the burgers kept rocking up, my friend and I kept on eating. We both arrived after a long hard-day in the office and the lively atmosphere made it great for a post-work drinks as well as an amazing meal.

Honest Burgers Notting Hill

The Portobello Road restaurant is their largest yet and thankfully has managed to bring with it the makeshift identity they coined in Brixton Village, merging well with this eclectic area of West London. The focus remains on simplicity and the quality of their product, which is a properly British burger and reasonably priced too. This is reflected in the layout and décor of the place; if you head downstairs the wooden panelled walls and tables give the restaurant a very organic feel. Upstairs you can sit at the burger bar over a glass of wine and enjoy as the chef’s work their magic.

Honest Burgers makes for a great evening whether it’s relaxing after work or if you’re not feeling much like cooking. Portobello Road is also a good place for a celeb spot. Eating alongside Andi Peters is a truly humbling experience and just when you think it can’t get any better Matt Cardle walks past! Beer and a burger nothing better, I say! (sometimes I wonder if I’m really a boy).
