It’s no secret that I’m a little bit in love with the Big Easy. Whenever anyone asks me where to eat around Chelsea it’s my go-to answer…despite the area being packed with plenty of fancy pants restaurants that should probably get my vote. For me, great quality Lobster, eat-all-you-can Shrimp and endless Margaritas spell the recipe for a great night out – and I have had many at this quirky little crab-shack on the King’s Road.
The Big Easy has never been the place to go if you’re a Vegetarian really. It’s a Carnivores cavern, with meatiness practically dripping off the walls (but not actually dripping off the walls. That would be DISGUSTING). So I smiled to myself this morning when I heard about their “Quit the Quorn” menu during National Vegetarian Week in May. Ideal for anyone who laughs in the face of green things (I’m looking at you, boys…), the 3-course anti-vegetarian feast is packed with moist chicken, sticky ribs and juicy steak. Pudding is (surprisingly) meat free, but their not letting you off the hook with something light and delicate. Oh no. Finish with the Big Easy’s delicious home-made waffles with chocolate sauce and lashings of ice cream.
This is certainly not for the faint-hearted. Or those watching their weight.
All of this saucy, delicious grub is available for £39.95 at both lunch or dinner, from 20th-27th May. A little while to wait, but if all this has made you hungry, I’m sure they won’t mind if you visit before.
Bring on the meat sweats!
