May seems to be a big month for restaurant openings, with over 10 new venues opening their doors (and that’s just the ones we know of). Today, it’s the turn of Slabs London, the latest Burger joint to open it’s doors in the capital.
Slabs London doesn’t just do burgers. Oh no. It’s taking on one of the most popular restaurant in recent years, Burger & Lobster, and offering seafood alongside it’s patties.
The restaurant recently held a soft opening and the restaurant looks good – although the menu looks even better.
The normal options are there, or you can big up your order and go for something a little bit special. The Wagyu Beef Burger is available at a whopping £19.95 (compared to a standard beef burger at a more reasonable £6.95) and you can pair it with some seared Fois Gras if your tummy desires. Or you can go for one of their namesake “slabs” – a selection of meaty or fishy treats served on big marble slabs. I’m not sure how this works, but they all sound delicious. They can make skinny versions too which I like – keeps the options open.
Gah – it’s only breakfast time and I’ve just read the entire sample menu. I want Lobster, now.
The doors to the restaurant officially open today (13th May) so let’s hope that for Slabs, the 13th is lucky.
I’m looking forward to getting in to the restaurant to review – but if you get in before me (or went to the soft launch) let me know how it was?

My wife and I were taking a stroll along New Cavendish when we spotted Slabs and decided to have a peak. We started talking to the owner and one of his sons (think: handsome versions of Stavros Flatley)and they kindly invited us in “because we are all neighbours”!
There was a real buzz and excitement as we ate with what looked like a few of their friends, family and some locals. The food was amazing and the chef personally came to check we were happy. I had the chicken club sandwich (juicy, savoury and filling) and my wife had a skinny burger which she was delighted with. What a treat! The menu delivered so much choice which only means that we’ll be heading back there this week to play the ‘neighbours’ card again!
Excellent! Thanks so much for the feedback – so nice to hear from people who have been and enjoyed it. Definitely looking forward to getting in to eat there now.
