Tanner & Co: Pay what you think food is worth at new Bermondsey Street Restaurant

Tanner & Co is the newest restaurant set to open it’s doors on Bermondsey Street, which is fast becoming one of London’s most popular foodie spots.

In what can only be described as a stroke of genius (for both PR and Customer Service), during its initial opening days (Thursday 23rd– Bank Holiday Monday 27th May) the restaurant is asking diners to pay only what they think their food is worth. All they ask in return is some honest feedback as to why you decided to pay that much.

Tanner & Co will have a retro theme, with Starters such as  ‘Crispy spam fritter, piccalilli’, ‘Ale braised oxtail and mushroom spring rolls, onion mayonnaise’ sitting alongside bold main dishes such as ‘Poached hake, smoked leeks, curry Sauce’ and ‘Liver, bubble and squeak croquettes, onion gravy’.

A range of ‘Packed Lunch’ sandwiches and ‘Eat Your Greens’ salads will also compliment the menu for those looking for a lighter option, plus, the carvery trolley will be making a welcome (?!) come-back.

The restaurant will seat 100 diners and along with the retro menu, there will be a range of brand new cocktails, designed especially for the venue. A separate event space will also open at the end of May.

This launch sounds rather interesting. Extremely tempted to book in on opening weekend and see what it’s all about!
