If you know anything about me, you’ll know about my obsession with books.
I could get lost for hours in bookshops…reading odd pages of ancient novels, or being careful not to bend the spines of newer hardcovers. The genre doesn’t always matter. It’s something about the care that has been put into producing each edition; the devotion to the story, the cause. The passion and dedication that have gone into those pages just amazes me – each book tells a story that’s so much bigger than the words on the paper. Last month, I even got a tiny bit emotional during my first trip to Shakespeare and Company in Paris. A little strange? Maybe. But for me it was magical and my imagination just led me astray.
So, it was impossible for me not to fall head of heels in love with this…the absolute best Christmas Tree IN THE WORLD.
This is the Christmas tree that’s currently residing in the lobby of the Belgraves Hotel. It’s made entirely of books from the art book Publisher Taschen, including TASCHEN’s Favourite Hotels, Billy Wilder’s Some Like It Hot and Julius Shulman’s Modernism Rediscovered.
The tree stands at over 7ft tall and is made up of 385 books in total.
Pretty damn wonderful, no?

Uuuuuh I beg to differ… This is OBVIOUSLY the best christmas tree around https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=499302350093271&set=a.296566767033498.68872.214282865261889&type=1&theater – but then again, you know about my obsession with whisky 🙂 xx
