You know what I think London needs?
For the people who live here to take a bit more notice of it. You know – to stop going to the same place they always go, or the same area they visited last week – and get out and explore a bit. Have some fun. Learn about this AMAZING city we are lucky enough to be a part of. Hug it. Love it. Be it’s friend.
I’m all up for any idea that makes this possible – and am therefore a little bit excited about a new partnership I just learned of, between (the now free) Time Out and Yourvine, the online platform that encourages young people to complete activities to get free stuff from well respected brands.

The partnership will give participants the chance to undertake thousands of challenges, which will earn them fantastic rewards and unique money can’t buy prizes; from free music downloads to exclusive gig tickets and much, much more. It’s free to sign up and the more challenges you complete, the higher the stakes and the greater the rewards. Challenges will range from level 1 to level 5, and from what I’ve heard, will be a lot of fun.
You can sign up on the Yourvine site from 20th November and start getting involved by doing the easy bits…like submitting your favourite London places, helping to create a definitive map of the top 100 destinations or reviewing London venues you’ve visited recently. The more difficult interactive challenges will be revealed in good time, but will include adventures such as the London-wide scavenger hunt (taking place on 1st December) which will culminate in a big party, over in Notting Hill.
We’ll bring you more information on each individual event in our events section (funnily enough), but I’d highly recommend signing up quick so you can be part of the fun from the beginning.
I may be biased, but I believe London in beautiful in Winter, and it’s a wonderful time to get out and explore this incredible town. So wrap up in your warmest coat, snuggly scarf and ridiculously glamorous gloves and boots, get off the sofa and discover more of the greatest city on earth. And win some fantastic rewards for the pleasure.
